Premium Subscriber Q&A: Kerrie Forbes

August 11, 2025 Mark Curriden

In this Q&A with The Texas Lawbook, JSX CLO Kerrie Forbes discusses her biggest accomplishments at JSX and what she looks for in hiring outside counsel.

Texas Lawbook: What have been your biggest accomplishments since joining JSX?

Kerrie Forbes: Starting to build the in-house legal team at JSX. Helping to make our move into an amazing space at Orange County finally happen. Helping to fend off the efforts to regulate us out of business in D.C.

Lawbook: What do you look for in hiring outside counsel?

Forbes: Quality of work product, collaboration, communication, efficiency, creativity, appropriate staffing for the size of the matter and zealous advocacy without being a jerk.

Lawbook: What are two or three things that outside counsel need to know about you and know about doing legal work for JSX?

Forbes: Our team is very lean and very busy. We need sufficient time to review drafts before filing and expect quality work product by the time it gets to us.
