Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton announced Monday that private fund and alternative investments deal lawyer Graham McCall has joined the firm as a partner in Dallas.

McCall was most recently at Jackson Walker and is a former Goldman Sachs lawyer. He represents institutional sponsors, registered investment advisers, exempt reporting advisers, independent sponsors, and commodity pool operator and commodity trading advisors entities.
“Graham’s experience and deep industry knowledge allow us to continue to expand our growing private equity team and strengthens our ability to assist our sponsor clients with broader service offerings in the fund formation and investment manager space,” Luca Salvi, chair of Sheppard Mullin, said in the firm’s announcement. “Graham expands our corporate practice capabilities, not just in Dallas, but across the country, as we advise clients on sophisticated transactions across the core industries in which we focus.”
McCall’s legal career started in the division of market oversight at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He entered Big Law via Skadden in Washington, D.C., then moved to Dallas to join Goldman Sachs’ legal department, where he supported derivatives trading activities for institutional separately managed accounts and various private and registered fund vehicles. Over the last eight years, he has practiced at Akin and Jackson Walker.
McCall is the third corporate partner to join Sheppard Mullin in Texas this year, joining healthcare partners Tammy Woffenden and Ashley Wheelock.
AREAS OF FOCUS
McCall advises alternative asset managers on all aspects of private fund creation, offerings and ongoing operations, spanning a range of liquid, illiquid and hybrid private fund vehicles and separate accounts as well as the structuring of related upper tier management entities. His expertise spans multiple strategies and asset classes, including hedge, private equity, private credit, commodities, real estate, energy, digital assets, venture capital, and fund-of-funds.
