Tax Lawyer Timothy Devetski Jumps to Sidley Austin

March 26, 2013 Mark Curriden

Timothy J. Devetski has joined Sidley Austin in Houston as a partner in its global tax and tax controversy practice groups. Devetski was previously a partner at Vinson & Elkins.

Devetski focuses his practice on federal tax law, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and capital markets transactions, including those involving master limited partnerships (MLPs). He also has experience counseling non-U.S. businesses operating in the United States and U.S. businesses investing abroad with respect to transactions involving investors or operations in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia. In addition to his transaction planning experience, Tim also has experience in resolving contested issues with the Internal Revenue Service and in tax litigation in various courts.

Glenn L. Pinkerton, a Houston-based partner and a leader of the firm’s project finance and infrastructure practice, said in a statement that Devetski will be a significant part of the firm’s continued growth in the energy space.
