Dallas lawyer Nick Foran has departed the Southwest Airlines legal department to join national litigation firm Dowd Bennett.
During his two-year tenure at Southwest, Foran focused on operations and regulatory compliance. Before that, he was a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice’s antitrust division.
Foran, a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, also served for a dozen years as a naval aviator.
“We have been busy in Dallas and knew we needed to add another strong lawyer,” Ben Barnes, managing partner of Dowd Bennett’s Dallas office, told The Texas Lawbook. “When we met Nick, everyone liked him immediately and saw the fit. Nick was doing well in-house and was being selective about potential private practice opportunities, but after we got to know one another, both sides felt this was a great opportunity.”
