Steward Healthcare System Hires New Deputy GC

July 31, 2018 Brooks Igo

(July 31) – Justin Tilley has left his post as general counsel of Irving-based NorthStar Anesthesia to be the deputy general counsel at Steward Healthcare System, according to Tilley’s LinkedIn profile.

In June, Cranemere, a London holding company, purchased a majority stake in NorthStar from TPG Growth.

With the move to Steward, Tilley is joining the largest private, for-profit hospital operator in the U.S. The Dallas headquartered-company operates 38 community hospitals in the U.S. and the country of Maltathat and employs approximately 40,000 health care professionals. Steward’s GC is Joseph Maher, Jr., who is based in Boston.

Tilley received his law degree from SMU in 2004 and is a member of the law school’s Emerging Leaders Board. He has also worked in Baylor Scott & White Health’s legal department, where he eventually rose to vice president and assistant general counsel.
