(April 23) – Mike Hatchell, chair of Locke Lord’s appellate practice, will be honored by the Texas Bar Foundation with the Gregory S. Coleman Outstanding Appellate Lawyer Award. He will receive the award at the Foundation’s Annual Dinner on June 19 in San Antonio.

The Gregory S. Coleman Outstanding Appellate Lawyer Award, established in 2011, celebrates the high ideals and standards that Coleman demonstrated in his appellate practice and personal life. The award is given to lawyers that exhibit an outstanding appellate practice, a commitment to providing legal services for the underserved and a dedication to mentoring young attorneys.

Of counsel in Locke Lord’s Austin office, Hatchell has participated in more than 400 appeals in his 50-year career. He has served over two decades on the Texas Supreme Court Advisory Committee that advises the state’s high court on Rules of Procedure and the administration of justice in the Texas court system. He is also a founding member and past president of the State Bar of Texas Appellate Practice and Advocacy Section.
