Texas GC Forum Names Magna Stella Winners

September 25, 2020 Mark Curriden

The Texas General Counsel Forum has named eight corporate in-house counsel from companies including Celanese, Flowserve, Pinnacle Propane, Callon Petroleum, Alcon, NexTier, NTT DATA and Seabed Geosolutions to receive the 2020 Magna Stella Awards.

For 15 years, the GC Forum has honored chief legal officers and senior counsel at Texas companies for their extraordinary achievements.

“In 2006, the Forum initiated the Magna Stella® Awards program to recognize in-house excellence in Texas corporations, organizations and government agencies,” Texas GC Forum CEO Lynn Bozalis said. “The name ‘Magna Stella’ means great, or magnificent star. Stella winners are shining examples of the type of leadership the Forum strives to exemplify in its membership.”

The 2020 Magna Stella honorees are:

Celanese Corporation General Counsel A. Lynne Puckett for Pro Bono;

Flowserve Corporation General Counsel Lanesha T. Minnix for GC of the Year for a Large Legal Department;

NexTier Oilfield Services GC Kevin McDonald for General Counsel of the Year for a Small Legal Department;

Pinnacle Propane General Counsel Jeffrey E. Lewis for Solo GC of the Year;

NTT DATA Services Vice President of Commercial Litigation Christopher Stidvent for Senior Managing Counsel of the Year for a Large Legal Department;

Callon Petroleum Deputy GC Brian Bowen for Senior Managing Counsel for a Small Legal Department;

Seabed Geosolutions Chief Legal Officer Justin Mitchell for Major Litigation of the Year; and

Alcon General Counsel Royce Bedward for Major Transaction of the Year.

More details on each Magna Stella award winner to come in The Texas Lawbook.
