Tim Shelby Promoted to Partner at AZA

June 21, 2013 Mark Curriden

Houston-based litigation boutique Ahmad, Zavitsanos, Anaipakos, Alavi & Mensing (AZA) has promoted Tim Shelby to partner.

“Tim is a person who can connect with jurors, witnesses and clients alike. But he also possesses a superior intellect and amazing legal acumen that allow him to simply take the air out of an opponent’s case,” John Zavitsanos, one of AZA’s founding partners, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled he is becoming a partner. We sure wouldn’t want him anywhere else.”

Zavitsanos, in a statement issued by the firm, praised Shelby specifically for his work on behalf of an oil field supplier that was facing $35 million in exposure when the company hired AZA. Within six months of Shelby being on the case, the company that sued paid AZA’s client a multimillion-dollar settlement.

Shelby, a Harvard Law graduate who received his Master’s from Texas A&M University and his undergraduate degree from Baylor University, focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, energy litigation, securities litigation, professional liability matters, and real estate disputes.
