(April 24) – The Texas Diversity Council has named Weil Dallas-based partner Courtney Marcus a 2014 Most Powerful & Influential Woman, the firm announced today. This is the fifth consecutive year that an attorney from Weil’s Dallas or Houston office has been honored with this award.
“Courtney is consistently recognized as a leader in the legal profession and is deeply involved in her community,” Glenn West, managing partner of Weil’s Dallas office, said in a statement. “She is focused, tenacious and trustworthy, and devotes countless hours to the betterment of those around her.
“I salute her, and all of the other 2014 winners, for their accomplishments in the business world and in their respective communities. They are setting an outstanding example for future women leaders in Texas.”
Marcus, a St. Mary’s University School of Law graduate, focuses her practice on leveraged acquisition and recapitalization transactions, bridge and mezzanine financing, cash flow and asset-based lending, debtor-in-possession financing and loan restructurings and workouts. She is the current past chairman of the board of Texas Ballet Theater and remains a member of its Executive Committee.
The award will be presented to Marcus and other winners on May 1 at the 10th Annual Texas Diversity and Leadership Conference in San Antonio.
