By Brooks Igo

(Jan. 10) – Norton Rose Fulbright announced Wednesday that Dallas tax partner Todd Schroeder has joined the firm.

Schroeder previously practiced at Baker McKenzie. He concentrates his practice on domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, corporate restructurings, leveraged buyouts, private equity transactions, the tax aspects of securities offerings and like-kind exchanges.

“Because I have a strong focus on global tax planning and tax structuring matters, I feel my practice matches up quite well with all of what the firm has to offer,” he says.

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act has a “tremendous” effect on his practice, Schroeder notes.

“The new 21-percent corporate tax rate, coupled with the changes that were made to the international tax provisions, have changed the playing field from a U.S. tax perspective,” he says. “Clients and advisors will be spending a lot time and effort over the coming months and years learning to navigate the new environment.”
