Jackson Walker, one of the oldest and largest Texas-based law firms, enhanced its position as a go-to-firm in Texas, nationally, and globally with significant client successes and solid growth in 2017, including the addition of 16 lateral partners, 7 counsel and 29 associates.

Notable 2017 transactions highlight the breadth of the firm’s practice:

• Advised Kendra Scott, founder and CEO of leading jewelry and accessories brand Kendra Scott Design, Inc., in securing a substantial investment in the company from private equity firm Berkshire Partners LLC.

• Represented Fairway Energy Partners, LLC in a Railroad Commission pipeline interconnection proceeding and a district court antitrust case related to its right to connect its crude oil storage facility and pipelines to Magellan Midstream’s Houston crude oil distribution system.

• Represented a portfolio company of a Texas-based private equity firm and its affiliates in the $625 million sale of producing and undeveloped oil and gas properties in the Stack area of Oklahoma.

• Represented Great Western Petroleum, LLC as the borrower in a $750 million revolving credit facility secured by oil and gas assets in Colorado.

• Represented Linn Energy, LLC, a leading independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company with operations in 12 states and eight U.S. regions, in its Chapter 11 cases involving $9 billion in debt restructuring.

• Played a substantial role in developing and supporting legislation that provided significant tax incentives for the Petra Nova power plant, the world’s largest carbon capture plant, on behalf of NRG Energy, one of the project’s joint venture partners.

• Served as counsel to the buyer of Cielo Vista Ranch, the largest U.S. ranch sale of 2017.

• Advised Humanetics in its purchase of Mary Kay’s 420,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility.

• Counseled The Dallas Morning News with respect to its headquarters move to the Statler Library.

• Represented Pioneer Natural Resources with respect to its 1.1 million-square foot, 35- acre office campus project, which will serve as the centerpiece of a $1 billion mixed use development.
