Scott Deatherage joins Gardere Wynne Sewell’s environmental practice group as a partner in the firm’s Dallas office. Deatherage, who brings with him 25 years of experience practicing in Texas, was formerly at Thompson & Knight, and most recently at Patton Boggs.
He focuses his practice on environmental, energy and greenhouse gas regulatory matters. In addition to providing permitting, compliance and litigation services, he counsels clients — specifically those in the oil and gas, pipeline, mining and manufacturing industries — on a wide array of environmental issues in connection with transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
Deatherage will also serve on the firm’s energy industry practice group, where electricity generation for traditional and renewable power projects will be at the forefront of his practice in the coming year as the industry continues to require new generation from traditional and renewable energy.
