February 15, 2022 Brooks Igo

Norton Rose Fulbright has landed Houston corporate transactional partner John Bakht, the firm announced Tuesday.

Bakht, who was most recently at Gray Reed, is a former general counsel at BJ Services and CARBO Ceramics. But most of his experience came at Baker Hughes, where he worked for 13 years, including as vice president of legal for corporate strategy and reservoir development services.

The University of Texas School of Law graduate said in a statement that he enjoyed his experiences working with Norton Rose Fulbright attorneys when he was in-house and is impressed with the firm’s global platform and culture.

Over his career Bakht has negotiated and structured hundreds of domestic and international transactions, including complex mergers and acquisitions, stock and asset purchases, public and private securities offerings, financing transactions, joint ventures, master service agreements and technology licensing agreements.

Bakht’s clients include energy services and exploration and production companies, manufacturers and technology developers.
