Akerman Adds Littler L&E Partner

March 4, 2022 Brooks Igo

Akerman announced this week that labor and employment partner Mishell Parreno Taylor has joined the firm from Littler.

Parreno Taylor will practice out of the Akerman’s Houston and Los Angeles offices. At Littler, she served as office managing shareholder of the firm’s San Diego office and was a member of its Diversity and Inclusion Council.

While a significant amount of her practice is currently in Southern California, Parreno Taylor says her work with Texas clients is expanding.

The University of Houston Law Center alum is currently advising clients on managing remote employees, workplace safety issues, responding to complaints of inappropriate conduct, misappropriation of proprietary information, wage and hour compliance and developing effective diversity, equity and inclusion workplace initiatives.

“Mishell distinguishes herself from several of her peers with her ability to effectively handle employment compliance and litigation in circumstances involving multilingual and multicultural human capital across the globe,” Eric Gordon, chair of Akerman’s labor and employment practice, said in a statement.
