(Aug. 1) – The Association of Attorney-Mediators (AAM) recently announced that Dallas attorneys Christopher Nolland and Suzanne Mann Duvall have received the 2016 Brutsché Award.

The Brutsché Award is the organization’s highest honor and is “given to the person(s) personifying the principles of service and commitment to the profession that are the foundation of the ADR movement.”

Jeff Kilgore, president-elect of AAM, said the Brutsché award is not given every year, but “only when the board feels members are worthy.”

Kilgore noted that Nolland and Duvall have been involved with AAM since it was founded by Steve Brutsché in Texas in 1991. The organization now has more than 400 members across chapters in 28 states.

Nolland, who has mediated or arbitrated more than 2,100 complex commercial disputes, said receiving the Brutsché award is a “nice recognition.”

Duvall focuses her mediation practice on family law matters.

“I never expected to receive it [the Brutsché award],” she said. “It is one of the awards I’m most proud to receive.”
