Rakhee Patel, a bankruptcy and restructuring partner, has joined Troutman Pepper Locke in Dallas after more than three years at Sidley Austin. She will focus her practice on complex corporate restructurings, bankruptcy matters and related litigation and transactions for debtors, private equity sponsors, lenders and other stakeholders, the firm said in a news release.
Before joining Sidley in April 2023, Patel was a shareholder at Winstead PC for nearly seven years. Earlier in her career, she was a partner at Shackelford, Bowen, McKinley & Norton and practiced bankruptcy and restructuring law at Hallett & Perrin.
“Rakhee is a terrific lawyer with strong technical skill, deep market knowledge, and a stellar reputation in the bankruptcy and restructuring space — especially in key sectors like hospitality, energy, and manufacturing,” said Jonathan Young, chair of the Troutman Pepper Locke bankruptcy and restructuring practice. “Her arrival, alongside the additions last summer of Chris Fernandez, Michael Cecka, David Fialkow and Melissa Kato, underscores our momentum in building a deep and talented restructuring team that represents clients across the entire capital stack in a diverse range of industries and verticals. We are excited to have her join our team.”
Troutman Pepper Locke recorded $220 million in Texas revenue last year, which is a 0.9 percent increase form 2024 and reported a headcount of 215 lawyers, which is a decrease of 6.1 percent according to the Lawbook 50.
