Phelps Dunbar announced on Monday that it has added a veteran trial lawyer from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division in Austin.
After more than a decade at the DOJ, Phillip R. Dupré is joining Phelps as counsel.
“Phillip’s long tenure at DOJ, where he worked closely with EPA, paired with his extensive experience litigating matters under federal environmental laws are a great benefit for our clients,” said David Garcia, managing partner of Phelps’ Austin office, in a statement.
“Since our office opened in May 2024, we have focused on growing our regulatory and litigation capabilities in Austin, and we are fortunate to have Phillip join our team.”
AREAS OF FOCUS
Dupré represents companies in environmental enforcement actions, as well as citizen suits. He has extensive experience in federal circuit court defending the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s rules and regulations, which helps him in representing clients before the EPA in federal rulemaking and potential challenges to those.
