Energy Litigation Partner Moves to Porter Hedges

February 18, 2026 Elle Grinnell

Elizabeth Tiblets, a nationally recognized energy litigator, has joined Porter Hedges as a partner in the firm’s Energy Litigation practice, the firm announced in a news release. She joins from K&L Gates, where she worked eight years representing energy companies in high-stakes upstream oil and gas disputes across the United States.

Before joining Porter Hedges, Tiblets built a reputation handling complex contractual and royalty litigation in Texas and other major oil- and gas-producing states. She has played a key role in securing favorable rulings from the Texas and the North Dakota Supreme Courts on post-production deductions and has litigated class actions, bench and jury trials, arbitrations, and appeals.

“Elizabeth is a top-tier oil and gas litigator with a national reputation for excellence,” said Joyce Soliman, co-managing partner of Porter Hedges, in the release. “Her experience and leadership align seamlessly with our clients’ needs, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the partnership.”

Prior to joining K&L Gates in March 2018, she was of counsel at Winstead from 206 to 2018 and before that practiced as an associate at Locke Lord from 2008 to 2016, gaining substantial experience in commercial and energy litigation.

Porter Hedges is included in the Texas Lawbook 50 for both Texas-generated revenue and lawyer headcount. The Houston-based firm ranked No. 27 by revenue with $116.5 million in 2024 and No. 32 in headcount among the top 50 firms, with 111 lawyers.
