Edmund “Eddy” Daniels has joined Mayer Brown as a partner in Houston from McGuireWoods, and will focus his practice on power, energy and infrastructure transactions, including project development, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures and commercial agreements for energy and infrastructure assets, according to a news release.
Before joining Mayer Brown, Daniels practiced at McGuireWoods for five years, where he advised power producers, private equity sponsors, lenders and developers on energy asset acquisitions and dispositions, project development matters and power offtake arrangements. Before that, he was at Haynes Boone for two years and was managing director and general counsel, chief compliance officer at Panda Power Funds for six years. Prior to that, he was managing director and assistant GC at JPMorgan for three years, as well as at NRG Energy before that. He began his legal career at Baker Botts.

Mayer Brown recorded $80.2 million in Texas revenue last year, a 10.8 percent increase over 2024, according to the Lawbook 50.
AREAS OF FOCUS
Daniels advises power producers, private equity sponsors, lenders and developers on acquisitions and dispositions of energy assets, joint ventures, project development and power offtake agreements. His practice covers conventional and renewable power generation, energy storage projects, data centers, pipelines and natural gas storage facilities. He also counsels clients on commodity hedging arrangements and other commercial agreements related to energy and infrastructure projects.
