Houston Personal Injury Partner Moves to Sorrels Law

July 15, 2026 Elle Grinnell

Brooks Tobin, a personal injury partner, has joined Sorrels Law in Houston. He will focus his practice on catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death litigation, according to a news release.

Before joining Sorrels Law, Tobin practiced at two plaintiffs’ firms, Spagnoletti Law Firm and the Ammons Law Firm, where he represented individuals and families in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases, securing numerous multimillion-dollar recoveries.

Earlier in his career, he practiced commercial litigation at a Houston boutique and later worked in civil defense, representing corporate clients and insurers in complex disputes. He began his legal career as a judicial law clerk to U.S. District Judge Rolando Olvera for the Southern District of Texas.

“Brooks Tobin brings the type of background, grit, and determination we value at the firm. A former judicial law clerk for a federal judge, with a solid foundation with a civil defense firm and experience with two highly successful plaintiffs’ shops—he will hit the ground running and our clients will be the beneficiaries of his expertise,” noted firm partner Randy Sorrels in the release.

AREAS OF FOCUS
Tobin represents individuals and families in catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death matters. He leverages experience gained representing corporations and insurers in commercial litigation and civil defense to advocate for plaintiffs in complex, high-stakes cases. Throughout his career, he has pursued claims against some of the nation’s largest companies and has secured numerous multimillion-dollar recoveries for his clients, according to the release.
