Hunton & Williams Hosts Clients and Guests at George W. Bush Presidential Center

By Brooks Igo
Staff Writer for The Texas Lawbook

Hunton & Williams’ Dallas office hosted more than 180 clients and friends for “A World of Thanks” cocktail reception on Nov. 21 at the recently opened George W. Bush Presidential Center on Southern Methodist University’s campus. Lawyers from a number of the firm’s offices were also in attendance, as Hunton & Williams hosted the in-house legal counsel of the Dallas office’s top clients.

Attendees could enjoy all the 13th Presidential Library has to offer, including its exhibits on education reform, the global war on terror, the financial crisis and the 2000 election, and take home a picture sitting in the library’s full-sized replica Oval Office.

Memphis Soul, a Texas-based jazz band, provided the evening’s entertainment while guests enjoyed hand-passed “Big Apple” martinis and the following hand-passed hors d’ oeuvres: “The Londoner” (Ale battered cod, malt vinegar, tartar sauce, shoestring ‘chips’), “The Virginian” (shaved Smithfield ham on cheddar biscuits with apple honey butter), “The Californ-I-A” (artichoke parmesan fritters with spicy tomato sauce) and “The Rising Sun” (Asian tuna tartare on crisp wonton with avocado and sesame seeds).

Raise a Glass

Kudos to John Eix, director of regional business development in Texas, and his team for a party well done.
