(July 10) – Jackson Walker has bulked up its corporate practice in Dallas with the addition of two veteran partners, the firm announced Tuesday.

Larry Glasgow and Richard Waggoner have jumped to Jackson Walker from Foley Gardere. They each bring more than 30 years of experience with their mergers and acquisitions practices.

“Jackson Walker is an awesome, well-regarded and long-standing firm. It was a simple decision in terms of that aspect,” said Glasgow, who had practiced at Gardere for more than two decades.

The combination this year between Foley and Gardere created a “fluid environment that generates new opportunities,” he added.

Glasgow is the co-founder of the M&A Institute at the University of Texas School of Law. He continues to co-chair the annual conference, which is in its 14th year, that brings leading practitioners and experts in finance, accounting, and law together to analyze and evaluate current M&A trends, opportunities and concerns.

“The Institute has helped the overall M&A practice across the country in fleshing out topics and trends and better educating practitioners to better negotiate transactions,” Glasgow said.

Waggoner advises clients on distressed acquisition opportunities, creation of expansion capital, and strategies to deal with the growing reluctance of banks to fund large and highly-leveraged deals.
