Kane Russell Coleman Logan PC, a full-service law firm with offices in Dallas and Houston, announced on Tuesday that it has expanded its presence in Texas by establishing a new office in Austin.
Operating from temporary office space in Frost Bank Tower, the firm’s permanent office — which will be over 8,000 square feet — is under construction. KRCL expects it to be functional by the end of the first quarter.
The KRCL team leading the move to Austin and helping develop several aspects of the new office are a pair of its founding directors, Joseph M. Coleman and Raymond J. Kane.
“Expanding to Austin is an important part of our strategic plan. This move strengthens our ability to serve clients across every major market in Texas, solidifying our presence as a true Texas-based firm,” said Coleman in a news release. “We are thrilled with the quality of lawyers attracted to KRCL. As our clients grow and expand statewide, our Austin office ensures they will have comprehensive legal support in the dynamic Central Texas region.”
Due to its permanent office space still being under construction, KRCL opened its Austin office on March 3 in a temporary location within Frost Bank Tower. The initial members of the office include six partners and associate attorneys, each focusing heavily on the office’s initial focus areas: bankruptcy and litigation.
Those include a trio of newly hired individuals who will hold the title of director at the new office, including Mark Taylor, Morris Weiss and Trip Nix, all partners at Holland & Knight for at least the past two years.
Additionally, Jason Binford, Casey Roy, and Abby Rogers joined the office after each spent at least the last year working at Ross, Smith & Binford.
In the new Austin office, Binford will serve as an additional director, Roy as a senior attorney and Rogers as an associate attorney, respectively.
In addition to these six lawyers, KRCL revealed in the release that it also has several other partner hires on the horizon for the Austin office. The firm plans to expand and grow the office to make it a full-service platform, including technology, healthcare, real estate and manufacturing, as well as support businesses looking to relocate to Texas.
“This expansion into Austin marks one of the most significant strategic achievements originally set as a long-term goal by our founders and now executed by our next generation of leaders. Bringing this vision to life has been a long-standing priority, and I’m thrilled to see it come to fruition at the perfect time —when our firm is poised to capitalize on the many business opportunities in the Austin and Central Texas markets,” Kane said in the release.
