(May 31) – Locke Lord recently announced that Dallas partner Don Glendenning has been named partner-in-charge of corporate responsibility and charitable giving, a new role created by the firm to advance its pro bono and charitable work.

Glendenning also serves as co-chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee. He served as the Dallas office’s managing partner for two decades.

“Don is a tireless and selfless community volunteer who now will be a presence in all the good that we do,” Jerry Clements, chair of Locke Lord, said in a statement.

Glendenning has served in leadership roles for countless charities pursuing a variety of causes, including social justice, public health and education, the environment and the arts. He is a former president of the Human Rights Initiative of North Texas; chairman of The Thanks-Giving Foundation; director of the Parkland Foundation and co-chair of the successful $150 million campaign for the new Parkland hospital; chairman of the Zoological Society; and president of Scenic Dallas and Scenic Texas.

The community champion has also been recognized with a number of awards and honors. He is a recipient of the Human Rights Initiative of North Texas’ Angel of Freedom and Distinguished Life Service awards; the Dallas Holocaust Museum’s Hope for Humanity award; the Dallas Bar Association’s Justinian Award; the Anti-Defamation League of Dallas’ Schoenbrun Jurisprudence Award; the Legal Aid of Northwest Texas’ Pro Bono award; the Dallas Zoological Society’s Good Egg award; the TACA Silver Cup award; and with his wife, Carol, the Dallas Opera’s Juanita and Henry S.
