London Calling: UK Firm Expands to Texas

September 9, 2021 Brooks Igo

London-based international law firm Withers announced this week it has tapped a Winstead tax and estate planning attorney to usher in its arrival to Texas.

Houston partner Kevin Keen focuses his practice on wealth transfer, family governance, business succession and estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax.

Prior to joining Withers, Keen resided in and maintained a private client practice in Zurich, Switzerland.

“Texas has so much appeal for successful families, offering an attractive business climate, dynamic cities and very competitive tax rates compared to other states. As we increasingly see families and businesses relocate to Texas from states such as California and New York, our new presence allows us to bring high quality planning advice to those clients,” Jay Dinwoodie, chief executive of Withers’ global private client and tax division, said in a statement.

“Kevin’s expertise and relationships make him a natural fit for Withers’ premiere private client and tax team as we strategically enhance our bench strength to continue addressing the needs of our global client base.”

Withers has global revenues of $307 million and U.S. outposts in New York; Los Angeles; San Francisco; San Diego; Boston; Rancho Santa Fe, California; Greenwich, Connecticut; and New Haven, Connecticut.
