Tim Ribelin has joined Norton Rose Fulbright’s Austin office as a partner in its litigation and disputes practice from Husch Blackwell.
Ribelin, who practiced at Husch Blackwell for the past decade, represents hospitals, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers and healthcare systems in disputes with insurers and other payers over reimbursement, billing, claims processing and contracts, according to the firm’s announcement.
“Tim adds meaningful depth to our managed care litigation practice as providers are under growing pressure to secure appropriate reimbursement for the care they deliver,” said Shea Haass, a Dallas-based litigation partner who also focuses on serving healthcare providers. “Tim’s experience representing hospitals and physician groups aligns directly with the work our team does, and he is the kind of tenacious advocate our clients deserve.”
Ribelin is joining a firm that sits in the top five of Texas headcount and revenue, according to Texas Lawbook 50 data. Norton Rose topped $570 million in revenue generated by its Texas operations last year and reported more than 400 lawyers in the state.
Ribelin earned his JD from Baylor Law School, a masters in medicinal chemistry from the University of Kansas and a bachelor’s degree in health science from Baylor University. Before his legal career, Ribelin worked as a research scientist in oncology and antibacterial medicinal chemistry.
