(Feb. 1) – Norton Rose Fulbright recently announced two significant lateral moves to bolster its Houston and Austin offices.
The firm tapped Mike Munro – former vice president, deputy general counsel and chief compliance officer of Transocean Ltd. – to join the firm as a partner and serve as the head of compliance of its Houston office.
Munro will focus his practice on assisting clients in addressing global business risks through compliance program development, improvement and assessments; appropriate investigations; and the proper management of compliance-related government relationships, settlements and ongoing reporting obligations.
Prior to his seven-year tenure at Transocean, he held global compliance risk roles at Houston-based energy companies Baker Hughes and Bristow Group.
In Austin, the firm lured corporate and regulatory banking partner Justin Long from Bracewell, where he led the rival law firm’s financial institutions practice.
The University of Texas School of Law graduate advises financial institutions and corporations on public and private securities offerings, securities law compliance and reporting obligations, asset sales and acquisitions and other corporate reorganizations.
