Lynn Tillotson Pinker & Cox Celebrates 20 Years

Dallas-based litigation boutique Lynn Tillotson Pinker & Cox celebrated its 20-year anniversary at the Ritz-Carlton in Uptown on Oct. 10. The reception included a live band, hand-rolled cigars and, of course, an open bar and delicious spread of food.

When the time came for Mike Lynn, the firm’s founder, to say a few words, he first wanted to thank Jim Coleman. He says Coleman “basically started our firm” by advising him to go out on his own.

“We set out on a journey 20 years ago to build a firm that would be the best commercial trial and appellate firm in Texas,” Lynn said. “We like to think we are on the cusp of achieving that goal and we thank all those who helped us so much along the way. It has been a joyous and rewarding journey.”

Lynn said he keeps wondering how it all happened.

“There are precious few firms that have maintained their identity over the course of 20 years,” he said. “I think one reason for it is we are a throwback firm to the old way of practicing law—everyone loves and finds joy in trying cases. There’s no weak link.”

The firm, which started with three attorneys, has grown to more than 25. As part of its 20 year celebration, Lynn Tillotson created the Barefoot Sanders scholarship fund, established to assist outstanding high school seniors at the Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet who plan to continue their education in the legal field.

“More than ever, the legal industry must attract motivated, focused, and ethically-minded professionals,” said Jeff Tillotson, one of the firm’s named partners, in a statement. “We launched this program to support outstanding young people who want to make public their lives’ work.”
