By Brooks Igo – (July 7) – Greenberg Traurig recently announced that Dallas shareholder and Cotton Bowl alumni Daniel Novakov has been named the 38th chairman of the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association (CBAA), which sponsors the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic football game. The tax expert will serve a two-year term where he will oversee the Cotton Bowl’s first National Semifinal Game.
“Having played in the Cotton Bowl twice and then having spent eight years on the board of directors, I’m fully aware of the importance of the AT&T Cotton Bowl to our community,” Novakov, who played on the offensive line for Notre Dame in the 1970 and 1971 Cotton Bowls, said in a statement. “Our goal is to provide the memory of a lifetime for both student-athletes and fans alike by making each Cotton Bowl game the finest college football experience in America.”
Novakov, the fourth former player to chair the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, has served on the Classic’s board of directors since 2006 and has been the vice-chairman of CBAA’s executive committee for the past four years. He also sits on the boards of Baylor Health Care System Foundation and the SMU Athletic Forum.
