Help wanted.
Do you have a passion for pro bono legal work, community service and nonprofit charities or diversity and inclusion in the Texas legal profession?
The Texas Lawbook Foundation has a job for you.
A nonprofit 501(c)(3) that funds the reporting and writing efforts of The Texas Lawbook about pro bono, public service and diversity is seeking new board members for the Lawbook Foundation.
The Lawbook created the Lawbook Foundation and the full-time pro bono, public service and diversity reporter position nearly four years ago.
Krista Torralva, a former courts reporter for The Dallas Morning News, has been covering the beat for the past 18 months. Since taking on the beat, she has published more than 150 articles and has cited more than 400 lawyers in those articles.
Torralva recently led the redesign of the Lawbook Foundation’s homepage: https://www.texaslawbookfoundation.org/.

Toyota Managing Counsel Derek Lipscombe and I co-chair the Lawbook Foundation board and we are seeking to expand.
“Never before has the role of Texas lawyers been more important when it comes to meeting the legal needs of those in poverty, those who are disenfranchised or disadvantaged, those who military veterans or single parents and children facing abusive environments,” Lipscombe said. “Never has the issue of diversity and inclusion in the legal profession been more important or more newsworthy.”
“We are looking for board members who have the same passion for pro bono and diversity that Krista has,” he said.
The compensation for Lawbook Foundation board membership is huge: The great knowledge and satisfaction that you are helping promote and encourage lawyers in Texas to better serve their communities.
