(Nov. 30) – Bracewell announced Wednesday that Houston partner Jarvis Hollingsworth has been appointed by Texas Governor Gregg Abbott to serve as chair of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas Board of Trustees.

Hollingsworth, a member of Bracewell’s management committee, will chair the TRS board through August 2023. This is the second time he has been appointed to this position – he served from 2005 to 2008 following his appointment by then-Governor Rick Perry.

With $147 billion in assets and health care benefits for more than 1.5 million public education employees, TRS is the largest public retirement system in Texas in membership and assets and the sixth largest public pension trust fund in the U.S.
