Willkie Farr & Gallagher recently announced the addition of Houston energy transactions pro Jesse Myers from Latham & Watkins.
Myers, who handles mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and capital markets matters, praised Willkie’s “top-tier platform” in Houston.
“The depth of its energy practice coupled with the firm’s leading corporate and private equity capabilities presents a terrific opportunity to expand the services I can offer to clients,” Myers said in a statement.
In November, Myers co-led the Latham team that advised Aeva, Inc. in its proposed merger with Interprivate Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company. Silicon Valley-based Aeva, Inc. aims to produce new sensing and perception technologies for the emerging autonomous vehicle market.
Also last year, Myers advised Superior Energy Services on an exchange offer of up to $500 million of newly issued 7.125% senior notes due 2021 and cash.
Over his career, Myers has represented Quantum Energy Partners, Energy Transfer Partners, Enbridge Energy, Viper Energy and Suncoke Energy Partners in numerous transactions.
“Jesse is a talented attorney with a deep breadth of experience across the energy space. His versatility in private equity, capital markets and energy transition projects in particular complements and further broadens our energy platform,” Michael Piazza, co-managing partner of Willkie’s Houston office and co-head of the firm’s energy practice, said in the announcement.
