Veteran healthcare attorney Janice Suchyta has joined the Houston office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, the firm announced in a news release.
Suchyta, who spent nearly three years at Baker Donelson before making the move, will be a partner in the firm’s healthcare practice group.
“Janice is a welcomed addition to our Houston office and will play a major role in growing our Healthcare practice in Texas and throughout the U.S.,” Nelson Mullins Houston office managing partner Craig Dillard said in the release. “She is an established attorney in the industry, and we’re proud to welcome her to our team.”
In April, Nelson Mullins opened its Houston office with 10 attorneys and now has 28.
Suchyta’s focus is on “advising providers on strategic, regulatory and operational issues,” according to the release. She has represented various types of clients in the industry and has assisted “in the development and implementation of collaborative care models, clinically integrated networks, patient safety organizations and employer sponsored on-site health clinics,” according to the release. She also has represented “numerous providers with cybersecurity and cyber-liability issues, telehealth, data strategy, security and privacy, licensure and accreditation of health care facilities” and more.
“I am thrilled to join Nelson Mullins in the Houston office and the growing Healthcare group,” Suchyta said. “I look forward to collaborating with the talented team of attorneys at the firm and supporting our health law clients both nationally and in Texas.”
Suchyta is a 1985 graduate of the University of Michigan and she received her law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 1990.
