State Tax Expert Jumps to Reed Smith

January 14, 2021 Brooks Igo

Texas state tax expert Danielle Ahlrich has joined Reed Smith from the Austin state tax law firm Martens, Todd, Leonard & Ahlrich, where she was a name partner.

Ahlrich focuses her practice on tax audits and tax controversy involving the state’s sales and use and franchise taxes. She represents clients in the construction, oil and gas and tech industries challenge assessments and seek refunds of overpaid taxes before the Texas Office of Administrative Hearings, in state district courts and on appeal.

“Reed Smith has the largest and strongest state tax platform in the U.S., which will allow me to build and expand my practice considerably, as well as to provide boots-on-the ground in Texas for Reed Smith clients with Texas tax issues,” Ahlrich, a graduate of Baylor Law School, said in a statement.

Prior to her nine-year tenure with her previous firm, Ahlrich was a staff attorney for the Texas Department of Insurance.
