Brooks Igo is the publisher of The Texas Lawbook. He graduated from SMU, where he studied business and journalism. Two months after the launch of The Lawbook and the beginning of his last semester at SMU, Brooks interned with Mark, Sally and The Lawbook. After joining the team full-time, he has worked to build relationships in the Texas legal community and help grow the publication’s readership to more than 13,000 subscribers.

Brooks is on the steering committee for the Dallas chapter of the Legal Marketing Association’s Southwest Region; serves on the boards of The Well Community and the Salvation Army Oak Cliff Corps; and is a supporter of Advocates for Community Transformation (Act).

He, his wife Ashley, daughter June, and son Oliver live in Oak Cliff with their pack of rescue dogs and pig.

Big D and Big Ben: London Partner Discusses Haynes Boone’s Rising Global Reach

Haynes Boone's lateral partner activity in 2025 has been a case in point that no corporate law firm headquartered in Texas is expanding faster outside the state. One-fourth of the firm's 20 lateral partner additions this year have been in London. The Lawbook met in person with office co-leader Nick Davis, one of those 2025 recruits, earlier this summer. "The epicenter of the world seems to be heading towards Texas right now," he said in the interview.

Brink’s Recruits New CLO from 7-Eleven

Kristen Cook, a 15-year lawyer with 7-Eleven who most recently served as chief of staff to the CEO, is joining the Dallas-headquartered global cash and valuables management company as chief legal officer, executive vice president, and corporate secretary. Cook discussed her 7-Eleven tenure and move to Brink’s with The Lawbook.
