Brooks Igo

Brooks Igo is the publisher of The Texas Lawbook. He graduated from SMU, where he studied business and journalism. Two months after the launch of The Lawbook and the beginning of his last semester at SMU, Brooks interned with Mark, Sally and The Lawbook. After joining the team full-time, he has worked to build relationships in the Texas legal community and help grow the publication’s readership to more than 13,000 subscribers.

Brooks is on the steering committee for the Dallas chapter of the Legal Marketing Association’s Southwest Region; serves on the boards of The Well Community and the Salvation Army Oak Cliff Corps; and is a supporter of Advocates for Community Transformation (Act).

He, his wife Ashley, daughter June, and son Oliver live in Oak Cliff with their pack of rescue dogs and pig.

Former PepsiCo GC Leanne Oliver Joins Phillips Murrah

Oliver achieved many successes during her nearly three decades at PepsiCo and was promoted six times. She successfully defended the multinational food and beverage company against major class-action lawsuits, led strategic corporate acquisitions, and developed innovative employment policies and management training programs. Ex-PepsiCo General Counsel Larry Thompson told The Texas Lawbook in a 2021 profile of Oliver that, “No one really knows PepsiCo as well as Leanne. She has brought enormous value to the company and to the entire legal profession.”

  • Toyota’s Derek Lipscombe Named Texas Lawbook Foundation Co-Chair - The Texas Lawbook Foundation has named Derek Lipscombe, managing counsel at Toyota North America, as the new co-chair of the nonprofit’s board of directors. Lipscombe, a former newspaper reporter who is past president of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s DFW Chapter, has served on The Lawbook Foundation board since it was founded in 2023.   • Midwest Law Firm with Texas Offices Merges with Northeast Firm - Cincinnati-based Frost Brown Todd, which has operations in Dallas and Houston, announced Wednesday that it is merging with the Newark-headquartered law firm Gibbons.
