The strategy, they say, is good business, good for clients and good for the legal profession. Their success may come down to one question: Can they hire and retain talented lawyers in key practice areas who are satisfied making several hundred thousands dollars a year in compensation instead of millions of dollars a year?

Yearning For Zion: A Massive Child Custody Case Remembered 10 Years After
Ten years ago, Carmen Dusek found herself square in the middle of the largest child custody case ever litigated. The case involved charges of child abuse and rape in a remote compound run fundamentalist religious sect run by Warren Jeffs whose Biblical beliefs included a particularly strident form of polygamy. Houston Attorney Randy Sorrels Voted State Bar President-Elect
(May 2) In the month-long voting that ended Monday, Houston attorney Randy Sorrels received 58 percent of the 32,445 votes cast. Sorrels defeated Dallas attorney Lisa Blue, who was named on 41 percent of the ballots cast. Write-in candidates received the remaining votes.
