Baker Botts has announced that Anna Irion is joining its Global Projects department in Houston after more than a dozen years focusing on all things midstream with Jackson Walker.

Vinson & Elkins has hired Houston energy M&A partner Chris Bennett. He is returning to V&E after a couple of years as a partner at Weil.

Latham & Watkins has recruited private equity general counsel Max Klupchak. Houston office managing partner Nick Dhesi said Klupchak’s “experience with middle-market deals and the industrials and manufacturing sectors, in particular, enhances our leading private equity practice not only in Texas, but across the firm.”
Erin Hopkins, a veteran energy transactions partner at Baker Botts, is moving to the Houston office of Paul Hastings, his new law firm announced Tuesday. Hopkins brings with him 15 years of experience in energy and renewables transactions.

White & Case bolstered its M&A and energy group by hiring veteran Houston dealmaker Ian Goldberg, the firm announced in a news release. Bringing considerable experience with complex energy transactions, Goldberg also advises on energy transition, from carbon capture to renewable projects.

Norton Rose Fulbright announced on Thursday that it has expanded its business practice group by hiring veteran Dallas corporate finance partner Chip Gage. With more than 30 years of experience representing private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, he joins Norton Rose after spending nearly nine years at Winston & Strawn.
Degeyter was most recently the general counsel, chief compliance officer, and secretary of Medallion Midstream until its $2.6 billion acquisition by ONEOK, which closed last October. His in-house resume also includes helping lead Summit Midstream's IPO and working on the historic leveraged buyout of TXU Corp.

Dallas private equity veteran Nate Christensen has rejoined Weil as a partner, strengthening the firm's dealmaking expertise in sectors including energy, infrastructure and real estate. With over 20 years of experience, Christensen is the 15th partner nationwide to return to Weil since early 2023, following his roles at Norton Rose Fulbright, Foley & Lardner, HN Capital Partners and Hunt Consolidated. The arrival follows other strategic lateral hires in Texas for the firm and Christensen chatted with The Texas Lawbook about the move, the market and more.
